Carpe Diem!

That is exactly what one of my clients reminded me to do

today and each day!

I stopped by to visit with one of my new clients who had been gifted several hours of time with me. The plan was for him to be able to schedule a trip to the casino when he had a free day . When I stopped by to introduce myself and schedule our time my new client had been resting… I expected him to ask me to stop back another time to set up our outing. Boy was I surprised when his response was “Well, we could go right now!”

I was excited that he was so enthusiastic to spend some time with me and take his trip to the casino! We had a wonderful day! We spent the trip to and from the casino talking about his family, his former business and the ties and involvements he has had in our community. I was fortunate to be able to learn about his history and to have had the time with him. He thoroughly enjoyed his time at the penny slots, and we had a great lunch at the cafe.

I know the winter enthusiasts and the northwoods tourism is welcoming this white stuff with open arms and long awaited happiness, but as for me… Not So Much!

When I see the white stuff falling, all I can think about are those elderly in our community, that need to get out and about for appointments or to pick up groceries, and the risks they face of slipping on the snow and ice. Sip and falls are one of the leading sources of injury for our elderly population and a broken hip or shoulder, back, knee, wrist or ankle injury are no fun and very difficult to bounce back from.

Hands with Heart provides  that hand of stability when getting out in this weather. We will pick you up, escort you to a nice warm vehicle, help you get where your going, and fetch and carry anything you may need and then deliver you safely back to home and even carry in any packages.

Allow us to be that extra hand that makes getting out and about a bit safer and a bit less treacherous!
